Mental Health Awareness Week at Working Well Trust
3 Weeks ago by Jason Armstrong
June is Pride Month and we here at Working Well Trust are proud to stand with LGBTQI+ colleagues, partners and clients supporting them on their employment journey. As a community LGBTQI+ people are at higher risk of experiencing poor mental health and as such see an impact on their employment as a result. With half of LGBTIQ+ people admitting to experience depression and three in five with anxiety.
As part of our mission to support people across London with their mental health to both find and maintain employment that involves fighting workplace discrimination and challenging behavours to ensure everyone regardless of who they has the chance to thrive at a career.
We also want to make sure in turn our own staff feel vauled and celebrated as we want to do our part to make sure everyone is respected and protected. It is the meeting of people, beliefs, identities and cultures that makes our workplace stronger and we are better for it.
Finally while this month is a chance to celebrate progress Pride Month is also the moment to reconmit Working Well to our principels of Inclusion built on Equity, allyship, understanding, belonging for everyone.
