JD feels supported by IPS WorkWise
"This service has been instrumental in improving my career confidence"
"I have had support the whole way and I am happy with the support I was given."
DH came to the In Work Support service seeking a transfer to a more local store. Despite repeatedly requesting this from his employer over several years, his applications had been refused. He reported multiple stressors, including poor line-management relationships and excessive workload in his current location, contributing to worsening depression.
The IWS team advocated for the transfer as a reasonable adjustment to support his mental health. The case required repeated correspondence between departments and escalation to senior management due to delays and lack of communication.
Throughout this period, DH expressed feelings of frustration and hopelessness, at times considering withdrawing his request entirely. With continued encouragement and structured liaison from the IWS team, the employer agreed to a trial shift at a local Stepney store. The shift was successful, and DH established a positive relationship with the new manager.
He has since transferred permanently and reports improved wellbeing, reduced stress, and increased job satisfaction.
“The support helping with my transfer has been great I have had support the whole way and I am happy with the support I was given.“
