AC’s Story
AC said she was “delighted with the news” and even sent a joyful, smiling selfie to the recruiter as a show of gratitude and excitement.
OH* had recently left her job as a Care-Coordinator. While they were a highly capable, qualified professional in their field she wanted to move away from clinical work to help people in other ways.
Working closely together with their Employment Specialist OH identified roles she might wish to apply for and then together they worked to craft a CV and targeted cover letters. This resulted in offers of multiple job interviews.
OH shared that due to her anxiety, they found interviews intimidating and sometimes struggled with answering questions in depth. To help with this their ES shared techniques to improve interview skills and to manage anxiety which helped improve her confidence, speak more clearly and in more detail.
OH then had their first interview for a student wellbeing role at a college where after putting the techniques shared by their ES to use she was offered the job. Next their ES worked with OH to ensure the role was appropriate, and the support she needed was put in place.
Having since started the role OH shared that they love the job and that her team were incredibly supportive. While the team will continue to support them. They’re confident she will excel and be truly happy in her new role.
