This morning Leanne Mason from our IPS Workwise Barking & Dagenham service had the pleasure of meeting Sir Peter Schofield KCB, the Permanent Secretary of the Department for Work and Pensions, during his visit to the DWP Universal Credit Hub at Dagenham Library.

The visit celebrated the fantastic partnership between the local JCP team and Dagenham library, which has led to the creation of a permanent base for the Universal Credit team right in the local community. As part of the visit, Working Well was introduced alongside other several partners delivering services from the library.

It was also a brilliant opportunity for us to strengthen our relationships with local disability employment advisers, Barking day centre, as well as Barking & Dagenham council including their employment programme B&D Works.

Leanne had the chance to speak with Sir Peter about our IPS Workwise Service, the work we do supporting local residents on their employment journey and to highlight the great work we’ve been doing in partnership with DEAs and employment programmes across Barking & Dagenham.

It was a proud moment to showcase our work, our partnerships, and the positive impact we’re making together and we want to thank Mr Schofield for taking the time to visit as it meant a great deal to everyone involved.
