October 10th was World Mental Health Day. It serves as both a reminder of how important it is to have good mental health while also highlighting and celebrating the people who work to support those struggling with their mental health.

The theme this year is access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies an important message as all to often people will not know where they can turn when their Mental Health is impacted.

We want to take a moment to thank all our wonderful staff who day in and day out offer support and guidance to people affected by their Mental Health to not just find work but to stay in employment.

Our teams have spent the week celebrating and we’re excited to highlight just what our organisation has been doing to promote positive wellbeing and good mental health!

Kingston

Our Kingston Supported Employment Service held a Walk and Talk in Richmond Park where the team and clients took a moment to enjoy the crisp autumnal air and take a breather from the world.

Walking is an excellent way to look after your wellbeing and being in such lush scenery (with a dog) also helps!

WorkWell

Our WorkWell team got out and about in the local community to showcase how their service can support local Enfield residents on their Employment Journey.

The team attended an World Mental Health day event at Edmonton Library and had a great time talking to local residents. While being able to provide a service to support people on this journey is important it’s also vital that people know these services exist.

Enfield IPS

The Enfield IPS service used the time to do some team building and caught up with a previous employer the team had worked with.

Working with Employers to promote good mental health is a high priority here at Working Well and seeing it in action is always amazing.

Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham & Upskill

Our Tower Hamlets IPS, IPS WorkWise Barking & Dagenham and Upskill teams came together to talk about Mental Health, their work but mostly to take a moment to bond over shared work.

The people we work with can make all the difference to our Wellbeing so to have those bonds both in and out of work can make all the difference.

So much so members of our Barking & Dagenham team reached out to tell us the day went for them.

“To mark World Mental Health Day, our Barking and Dagenham team visited Barking Learning Centre to chat with some community staff and then Couleur Café for a coffee catch-up. It’s one of our favourite local spots and a great community partner. We welcomed our newest teammates over coffee and cake. A simple way to remind ourselves how important it is to support mental wellbeing at work.

Barnsley Street

Our Upskill team also dropped in on the Barnsley Street Hub to check in with our colleagues there and made sure they also took a moment to relax with a nice brunch.

Checking in with colleagues when they’re working away from their team is a small touch we can all do to help with Wellbeing because wherever we know or not we realise it taking that moment to talk to others really does wonders.
